Happy November! The temperature is dropping, the leaves are falling and in the Midwest, we’re days away from turning our clocks back an hour. There are memes all over social media showing how quickly we go from “Happy Halloween” to “Merry Christmas” on the drop of a dime—or on a drop of a day, November 1st. It’s also a time when we feel the need to give thanks and give back! A couple of years ago, we wrote a blog about three ways to kick-start your company’s community service during this season of thanksgiving. This year, we’re taking a different approach, because we’re extremely proud of the strides L & D Mail Masters’ staff has made this year!
Yearly, our employees have the opportunity to give to Metro United Way and the contribution of their choice comes directly out of their check. There are prize incentives, one of the most popular is their ability to earn a half or full paid-time-off day. It is a small price we pay to grant our employees the opportunity to give back to the community.
We just got our results from the 2018 Metro United Way Campaign and our employees raised $18,024 with 69-percent of employee participation. As a result, our company’s campaign qualified for an additional $15,000 in matching funds for the Metro United Way!

There is no better time than now; on November 1, when the season of giving is finally underway. Whether you plan to host a food drive, donate money or adopt a family, you will not only be making the lives of those you’re giving to better but those who help you give will walk away feeling motivated and encouraged.
