On Saturday in Kentuckiana, the skies will see one of the grandest firework shows in all of the country. It is the kickoff for Derby Season: Thunder over Louisville; one of the most exciting times in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. Thunder over Louisville comes right on time, because let’s face it, weather in the Midwest has been less than appealing over the last month or two. Winter is over. Mother Nature, enough! So, as we prepare for the fireworks, let’s look at ways to cherish spring in our marketing, even when the weather does not corporate.
- Local Events – Does your community host a spring-time festival or event? If so, host a table at the festival and bring your best marketing materials and sales personnel. Write a blog featuring the event; we always need content, right? Center a message around the event, because it always helps to relate to your target audience.
- Holidays – So, there’s Earth Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Labor Day and Father’s Day. Again, centering a message around a holiday is always helping in relating materials to your target audience.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – It’s a good time to spread the word on your commitment to social responsibility. It’s an even better time if your CSR activity is directly impacting the earth. [Check back next week to read all about L & D Mail Masters’ corporate social responsibility program.]
- Warm Weather – God willing, the weather will change sooner than later, right? Once it does, everyone will be in a hurry to soak up the sun. Plan something outside! Do you own a restaurant or coffee shop? Get your chairs and umbrellas out, because spring weather is finally coming and when it does, business will boom!
