Here we are, concluding the year 2017; a year when America’s 45th president is inaugurated, a year when the country bands together in the face of Mother Nature and domestic terrorism, and a year when a UFC fighter takes on an undefeated boxer in the boxing ring. As always, the year zoomed by; almost as fast as the complete solar eclipse. In August, the entire country’s eyes were glued to the sky, with protective covering of course. Mother Nature truly showed its beauty. And as we look forward to 2018, let’s reflect on the year L & D Mail Masters had in 2017.
L & D Mail Masters strengthened another worldwide partnership with Canon Solutions after installing the Canon Océ VarioPrint i300 sheetfed inkjet press. With the addition, L & D Mail Masters has been able to color match better than ever before. We know your brand colors are important to you, so we invested in the right technology to produce those on all of your marketing material. Our Canon i300 allows us to print booklets and magazines right under one roof controlling the process from your artwork to the finished product in your hands. Through our Canon partnership, our company also became a part of one of the largest inkjet user groups, thINK. Our President, Director of Marketing and Print Manager attended the annual conference in Boca Raton, FL where they were able to dive into the technology as well as hear Captain Scott Kelly, a retired astronaut and husband of Gabby Giffords, deliver a powerful keynote.
Several of our employees also went to training for our Pitney Bowes Epic Inserters to help our operations run as efficiently, securely and smoothly as possible. These trips and opportunities demonstrate our continued emphasis on training and continued learning for our employees. Pitney Bowes also recognized L & D Mail Masters at Print 2017 as one of their leading customers and early adopters of the industry changing technology.
In addition to capital investments, L & D Mail Masters also donated nearly $100,000 to charities this year. Investing in the quality of products we produce shows dedication to our customers and our industry, but investing in the community shows our dedication to humanity. “Give to inspire others to give.” It is a ripple effect L & D Mail Masters does not take lightly. We had a few more additions to the trophy case this year. In March, President Diane Fischer was awarded the 2017 National Association for Women Business Owners’ (NAWBO) Epic Award for Large Business Owner of the Year. Employee, Stephanie Dolleris earned her United States Postal Service Certified Direct Mail Professional and Mail Design Professional certifications. In October, Director of Business Development, Jill Peden, won Leadership Southern Indiana’s 2017 Young Professional of the Year Award. Finally, L & D Mail Masters’ Director of Marketing and Social Media Content Creator earned their Master’s degrees. The company is proud of all recognitions this year. Keep shooting for the stars!
