In the beginning.
While working for a small company, Diane Fischer quickly discovered direct mailing companies in this region were not equipped to handle businesses with a small volume of direct mail advertising. After discovering this void, Diane was inspired to create a company to service these small companies' needs. In 1986, she and her partner, Laura Graven, set out to fill this void by creating L & D Mail Masters, Inc. The company had a modest beginning, working out of Diane's basement with a computer, a folding machine, and a postage meter. It wasn't long before their new venture rapidly began to expand, causing a need for more space.

This need was first assuaged by a move to a rented building in New Albany, Indiana. Soon, another move in 1988 would place the company in a 17,000 square foot facility in Clarksville, Indiana. In the first three years of operation the business grew at least 50-75% each year, followed by a steady 25% growth in business each subsequent year.

From small business to corporation.
In 1990, Diane obtained her partner's share of the company. At that time, the company had grown to 40 full-time employees, had annual sales of $6 million and had the processing capability of 100,000 to 300,000 pieces of mail a week. By 1997, between 500,000 and 800,000 pieces of mail were being processed weekly and sales were increasing at the rate of $1 million annually. With such incredible success and growth, the need to expand was once again upon the company.

L & D Mail Masters was once again relocated, this time to its current facility built in New Albany, Indiana. The company was now housed in a 40,000 square foot building on 2.5 acres. Not surprisingly, the facility underwent additional expansion, as well as the purchase and expansion into the adjacent building. L & D has grown into a current occupation of 100,000 square feet and more than 95 employees.

L & D Mail Masters has become a technologically advanced facility where customers continue to see the benefits of outsourcing their direct mail operations. The clientele that the company deals with is a diverse group that includes insurance companies, financial institutions, universities, national sales organizations and companies that publish journals for Microsoft products and other software programs.

Furthermore, L & D Mail Masters has become a well-respected, full-size mail marketing company handling all direct mail needs, from the printer to the Post Office. Additionally, the company has established a design department, Design Masters. This creative department designs and constructs innovative direct mail advertising, websites, brochures, letterheads, business cards, logos, postcards or anything else a customer may need to grow their bottom line.

Looking into the future.
As you can see, L & D Mail Masters is a progressive company willing to serve clients with the same quality and expertise that has afforded the company tremendous success. Some of this success is reflected in 8 achievement awards won since 1993.
