25 years old…
The Big 2-5
The Silver Anniversary
A quarter century celebration
Diane Fischer's business, L & D Mail Masters, turned 25 this year. To celebrate, she was recently asked a few questions about the business and what it is like to see it 25 years later.
What led you to start L & D Mail Masters in 1986?
I had always worked hard for all of my past employers. I knew I had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I wanted to own something for myself and my family. I took a notebook and asked myself, "what kind of business can I run out of my home?" I started with a $500 investment, business cards and brochures. I used my experience from my other jobs to begin marketing my services.
What is the biggest accomplishment you have achieved with this company?
Built a well respected marketing company and have paid for all of the buildings on our campus.
What is the most important lesson you have learned about owning and growing your own business that you would like to share?
You need to surround yourself with good people, and you need to enjoy what you do. You also must learn to delegate. If you don't know how to do something keep learning and hire someone with those skill sets
What do you still hope to accomplish?
I want to join a group of people who challenge my abilities as a president who I can also share best practices with on a regular business
